Heritage Greets The Tradition On A South India Tour

While talking about the rich Indian culture and tradition which is being practiced along with the modern and scientific developments and researches, the entire belt of south India tops the chart. Surrounded by the Arabian Sea to its west, Bay of Bengal to its east and the great Indian Ocean to its south, this region is known for a varied topography. It includes rocky plateau region, highlands of Western and Eastern Ghats bordering at its coastline, beautiful islands, virgin beaches, delightful plains and rich alluvial soils.

From touristic point of view south India is known as a land of heritage and tradition. You can find plenty of majestic temples, beautiful beaches and swaying palm trees, green paddy fields, historical monuments and colourful festivals here. The southern Indian region comprises of four states- Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu along with the Union Territory of Pondicherry and the beautiful islands of Andaman-Nicobar and Lakshadweep.

South India tourism offers a number of attractions to all its guests. It has best-known pilgrimage centres, IT giants, enchanting wildlife patterns, houseboat cruises, colourful and unexplored marine and under-water worlds, Yoga and Ayurveda centers etc. If adventure is your cup of tea, then you must try out the thrilling adventure sports/activities like parasailing, angling and fishing, trekking, elephant rides, jungle activities, boating, swimming, mountain climbing and a trip to the aromatic plantations of cardamom, tea, coffee and pepper. For relaxing holidays, waterways like the Narmada, Mahanadi, Tungabhadra, Kaveri, Krishna and Godavari rivers are popular sites.

Places like Bangalore, Mysore, Bandipur, Coorg, Ooty, Cochin, Munnar, Thekkady, Kumarakom, Alleppey, Kovalam, Kanyakumari, Trivandrum, Chennai, Mahabalipuram, Tanjore, Periyar etc. are rich in varied cultures. Most of these places are known for their moderate climate, which you'll enjoy on your south India tour.
